Compendle - as easy as it looks!
Just to give you a little taste of what Compendle looks like, you can view the Compendle workspace to the right. Whatever you're doing, you will be doing it in the same workspace, and you will notice that all the functions are labelled clearly.
Create the course you want in your Compendle workpad
Your course workpad takes up most of your workspace. This is the equivalent of the workbook in a spreadsheet application or the document in a wordprocessor: a space where you create and edit the project you're working on. If you sign up for the free trial, you will get two workpads, so basically you can create two courses. If you subscribe to Compendle, you can create as many courses as you want. Choosing the installed version will allow all the users in your institution to build and publish an unlimited number of courses.
Populate your course with a rich variety of digital resources
Your resource pool appears at the right of your workspace. When you begin working on your course, it will be empty—when you import files, e-learning topics in zip files and web links, they will appear in the resource pool. Once in your pool, a resource can be dragged across into the appropriate place in your course.
If you sign up for the free trial you will have 50MB of storage for your resources. To gain unlimited storage space in your resource pool, you will need to subscribe to Compendle or buy the installed version.
Customise and contextualise
Customising your Compendle course is easy, and of huge benefit to corporate organisations and training providers. With a Compendle subscription you can change, modify and tweak your course in minutes to create something unique to your individual preferences. By opting for a campus/organisation-wide licence, you gain the advantage of being able to share courses which can be rearranged, rebranded and reused by your colleagues.
Create unique tailored courses
Customising your course with Compendle can be broken down into 2 main sections:
Change the look and feel of your course’s interface by choosing your own colours, logo and layout.
Modify your custom-friendly learning material by entering pop-up text for your learners and adding your own images to learning topics.
