About Compendle
A new way to manage your learning resources
Compendle is a new tool which makes it easy for anybody to create exciting, standards-based courses from a wide range of electronic resources. Compendle was developed when we realised that there was nothing on the market which allowed teachers or managers to just get on and create their own courses. We decided that the experts should be able to take charge of the creation and management of their own learning resources, without having to involve the IT department! With this in mind, we have made Compendle incredibly intuitive and easy to use.
Different people learn in different ways, and without needing any specialist knowledge, you can cover all bases with a rich blend of:
- Interactive learning
- Visual activities
- Screen based presentations
- And much more!
You can organise your course into any number of modular units, which can each contain any number of files or activities. And when you're ready, Compendle will publish your course to a VLE (eg. Moodle or Blackboard), an LMS or CD-Rom. You can also publish your course straight to an intranet or the internet.
Designed for you
You can choose a version of Compendle which suits your needs. For example, an individual subscription will allow you to build your own customised courses. However, if you want other people to have access to Compendle, you can buy a campus or organisation-wide licence. This will allow employees across your institution to pool resources and collaborate to make coures.

How does it work?
When you sign up to Compendle, you will be able to build courses in an online workpad. The process is simple: import files, zip files and web links into a resource pool and then just drag-and-drop to create a structured course suited to your learners. You can use Compendle’s customisation features to contextualise e‑learning and really personalise your course.
Compendle publishes your course as a zip file, compatible with current online learning environments such as Moodle and Blackboard. The zip file is conformant to SCORM and IMS packaging standards, which means it can be loaded onto most Virtual Learning Environments and Learning Management Systems. Compendle can also be integrated with learning repositories, including IntraLibrary.
